Strasbourg Christmas Market comes to Red Square
Moscow will be hosting the famed Strasbourg Christmas market on Red Square for the first time this year!
The 500 year old market will be installed on Red Square on December 24th and will run through the Orthodox Christmas which is celebrated on January 7th.
The Christmas market, which comes from the European Capital of Christmas and is held every year in Strasbourg, France will host a series of events and will have items on sell such as delicious sweets and pastries as well as hand-made items for the holiday season.
The Mayor of Strasbourg Roland Ries will be on hand for the opening ceremony which will be held on the evening of December 23rd. Entrance to the market will be free of charge.
The Moscow city government has allocated $40,000 to help sponser the event.
