Ice sculpture winter wonderland.

This winter there will be a special 'ice museum' in St. Petersburg, currently scheduled to open on December 1st and run through March 30th. The project used over 1,100 tons of crystal clear ice and over 300 tons of snow to create the winter fairytale atmosphere.

The location of the venue isn't the most ideal, as it's not in the center of the city, but none the less the area is an interesting part of the city which is worth exploring. The exhibitoin is located near Metro Park Pobedy, through the park and behind the SKK sport and concert arena, the address is Pr. Kosmonavtov 14, next to the Raduga shopping mall.

Park Pobedy is a wonderfully laid out part dedicated to the Soviet victory over the Nazis in World War II, and the SKK arena is a classical Soveit building. The ice exhibition includes ice palaces, bell towers, a maze, and other sculptures all of which is lit up in many colors and surrounded by snow princesses and the like.

If you're a fan of ice sculptures, this promises to be the best display in the city this winter, so check it out!
