Choir of Over 4,000 Performs in St. Petersburg

Russia is the world's largest country in terms of land mass, and this past sunday it tried to assemble the world largest choir. It is not clear yet if they goal was achieved. Nonetheless, a choir of more than 4,335 people gathered Sunday in St. Petersburg in front of the famous St. Isaac's Cathedral to perform an hour long concert. The event was part of weekend celebrations of St. Petersburg's 310th birthday.

The choir consisted of all age groups and professional backgrounds. However, it doesn't appear that St. Petersburg, which has a population of 5 million, was able to reach the world record. According to Guinness World Records, the largest choir performance was held in India in early 2011, which more than 120,000 members.
