Prokhorov on the Ballot in Russia!

It's official now, Russian Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov has been registered as a presidential candidate and will be on the ballot come March 4th when Russia chooses its president for the next 6 years!

Prokhorov satisfied official requirements of the Central Election Committee, which stipulated that a candidate obtain 2 million signatures before being allowed on the ballot. The committee's review of Prokhorov's signatures revealed that 4.38% were invalid, which is under the legal limit of 5%. However, Grigory Yavlinksy of the Yabloko party was disqualified from the Presidential election when consecutive checks of his signatures revealed 25.66% were invalid.

Prokhorov is now one of five possible candidates who have been approved for the election, he joins Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, moderate social democrat Sergei Mironov, liberal democratic party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky and commust leader Gennady Zyuganov.
