In May 2014, the Royal Princess Cruise Liner will visit North Capital of Russia. It's length from bow to stern is 330 meters, and it will be the longest Liner ever hosted in St. Petersburg.

Previous record belonged to the Celebrity Eclipse Liner, which was constructed by Meyer Werft GmbH in 2010. Royal Princess Liner was constructed in 2013 and christened by the Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge herself. It's length is 13 meters longer than Liner operated by Celebrity Cruises.

The Port of St. Petersburg, called "Marine Facade", will have to elongate its quays in order to host such a marvelous ship . To mention, till 2008, the Sea Port couldn't host ships longer than 200 meters, and cruise ships had to dock in the commercial harbor, which was not designed to meet tourists needs. By the order of the former governor of St. Petersburg the new Passenger terminal was designed. In 2011 the last stage of the construction was completed, presenting to the public 4 new terminals and 7 quays.

At the moment, ships not longer than 317 meters and with the sea gouge not more than 8.8 meters can dock in the "Marine Facade".
